Case study: IPTV general onscreen navigation concept

IPTV general onscreen navigation concept

I designed and conducted a series of studies across the product development process that enabled the team to better understand users' needs and expectations.

The Work

I worked as the UX researcher on a design team responsible for creating a major new IPTV platform and offering. I designed and conducted a series of studies throughout the product development process that enabled the team to better understand users’ needs and expectations for the ‘ideal TV experience’ as well as provide them with behavioural data and ‘on-demand’ user-testing to guide design decisions. Deliverables included in-depth reports as well as team brainstorming session facilitation, sketching and wireframes.

The Collaborator Perspective

As a designer what I like most about working with Kate is her ability to focus on figuring out what makes a good or bad user experience while allowing the designer to come up with the appropriate solution. Furthermore her wealth of knowledge in anthropology and cognitive science makes her a indispensable asset. It’s one thing to conduct research but it’s the way you interpret the data that makes the difference. Kate gave us valuable insight that allowed the design team to greatly improve the UI.
